Tool Girl Tessie

So I decided to spend a little time on Saturday doing a few household chores, including tightening the screws that hold Tessie's changing table together. They'd loosened up some since the thing was first assembled, and the whole structure had become a bit rickety. No cause for alarm, of course, and Tessie was never in danger of the table collapsing out from under her, but the squeaks and rattles demanded attention, so I grabbed my little ratcheting screwdriver and set to tightening down the dozen Phillips screws that hold it together.

Tessie followed. Apparently she was paying attention as well, for once I'd set down the screwdriver she picked it up and again tightened all the screws, even the ones she had to stretch to reach. She was probably just checking my work.

In other developments, Tessie has demonstrated her ability to count. She had a plate of strawberries at lunch today, and when asked how many there were, she replied, "Two three four six seveight ten." (She skips over one, five and nine, and on that occasion conflated seven with eight. And never mind that there were only four strawberries on the plate.)
